BEYOND BORDERS FROM MALMÖ TO HAMBURG": WOMEN IN THEATRE IN THE ÖRESUND; A HIT TALE

A description of the work creating, moving and delivering innovative , female-supporting international English-language theatre to Malmö, Hamburg and Copenhagen, created by https://www.hit-theatre.com/.

Founder Jana Pulkrabek and brand associate Vanessa Poole discuss the challenges, triumphs and excitement of bringing new and iconic plays to life , across borders and creating work for professionals on stage and off in 3 countries in the Öresund region.

The brand aims to develop and support international cultural ties, particularly in theatre, with an extra focus on a region covering, though not exclusively so, Malmö, Copenhagen and Hamburg.

HIT INTERNATIONAL THEATRE ARTS focuses on contemporary English-language theatre projects, which combine creatives and artists from Scandinavia, Germany and the UK. Under the umbrella of the cross-border festival MOVE THE NORTH, the brand creates international cultural ties in Europe, with its own original work and in-house productions, the support and exchange of guest productions, as well as networking initiatives being produced and presented in all three regions. 2025 represents HIT’s third year performing at prestigious Danish theatre Teatret ved sorte Hest and the fourth year collaborating with the English Theatre of Hamburg.
